Bemidji Family Finds Hope Has 4 Paws
Those 4 paws will come in the form of a loving canine companion.
Parents, Darrin and Anna Adams are raising funds on behalf of 4 Paws For Ability, a non-profit organization specializing in training and placement of service dogs for children with disabilities.
This is the story of their little princess….
Two-year-old Aliya Adams (a.k.a. Princess Pink), has faced more difficulties in her short life than most will face in their lifetime. And through it all, Aliya has done it with a courage and hope beyond herself. She has led a life of survival, including many doctors, painful tests and surgeries, lengthy hospital stays away from her siblings and the need to constantly try to overcome limitations.
Aliya is a former 2 lbs. 2 oz., 26 week premature infant who suffered a severe brain hemorrhage during birth. Because of these events she has been diagnosed with spastic triplegic cerebral palsy, a seizure disorder, an immune deficiency, global developmental delays, a lack of speech, among other medical conditions. Aliya uses braces, a walker and a wheelchair because her muscle tone makes her balance unsteady and makes her fatigue easily. She also lacks the physical skills required to keep up with other children, especially her three siblings.
Aliya is in need of a stable companion to offer special assistance to help her deal with her life’s everyday situations. In addition to providing constant companionship and unwavering loyalty, these 4-pawed wonders are specially trained to provide the physical, safety and emotional assistance she so desperately needs.
With your help "Princess Pink’s" dream to not walk this road alone can become a reality. Your tax-deductible donation to a wonderful, dream making organization called 4 Paws For Ability in Aliya’s name will allow them to place this 4-pawed miracle in Aliya’s life.
Based in Xenia, Ohio, 4 Paws For Ability strives to provide service dogs to families and young children, like Aliya, struggle with life’s everyday challenges and who would otherwise be turned away by many other agencies. 4 Paws trains a variety of assistance dogs, including but not limited to seizure assistance, mobility assistance, hearing ear dogs and autism assistance dogs. Some of the dogs even serve a little time in the Rover Prison Rehab Program as a stepping stone to becoming certified service dogs.
You can help bring a little more hope to Aliya’s life by making a tax-deductible donation in Aliya’s name to:
