Guten Tag!
Welcome to the Seriensheine (Series Bank Note) Shop. Colorful, historic German Notgeld (emergency money) can be enjoyed anywhere on these new, heavy-duty magnets.
Between 1919 and 1921, hundreds of German and Austrian towns, counties, and communities, printed bank notes intended to temporarily replace small change, which had become scarce following WWI. Each town seized the opportunity to raise funds along with community awareness of whatever topic they deemed important. The results were a collector's dream. Thousands of intricate drawings, paintings, and silhouettes were created to express each community's history, culture or contemporary point of view.
Although most issues of German Serienscheine are available through dealers, real series notes are delicate and should be kept away from light and air. In order to display hardier versions of these small works of art, we have placed them on sturdy, color-fast magnets. Get individual notes or buy them in complete sets.
