Though modern representations of ancient goddesses in many different cultures abound, there seem to be very few modern interpretations of the ancient near eastern Goddess known as Asherah in Hebrew and as Athirat or Atirat in other ancient near east languages.
Judith Laura offers her interpretation of Asherah, based on ancient statues and what we know about her. For example, the small statues found in archeological excavations show Asherah standing, with nurturing breasts and a trunk-like body below the waist. Her hair is short and curly. She is frequently associated with trees, especially the female date palm, the sea, and the sun, moon, and stars.
Items here are shown with her symbols, along with her name (Athirat) inscribed in Ugaritic cuneiform. Some items also have Hebrew lettering.
We expect to add more items to this shop soon. And there are additional Asherah items in both cafeshops.com/judithlaura3g and cafeshops.com/judithlaura
