Betcha Like It Products : College And Science : Geologist
I confess, I teased my old college friend decades ago for dropping out of the physics program to study geology.
You see, we were both mostly interested in astronomy, but our little college didn't have an astronomy major. So we each followed the path we thought might lead to a career in astronomy. I was convinced that physics was the way.
Alas, it was only a few years later that spacecraft started landing on the moon and Mars, and suddenly planetary science became an offshoot of -- you guessed it -- geology.
This humorous image is my tribute to those dedicated geology students. It shows a shovel stuck in the dirt, and if you look at the full size image you'll clearly see a sizable diamond sticking out of the same dirt.
It's a gift that would make any geologist or geology student chuckle.
