"With LINUX, I Get What I Need Off The Web" is the caption on this hairy spider image. The ugly icon is content, sitting at the center of his web. And spiders certainly do get all they need off their web.
But as the image suggests, Linux users get all they need off the web as well. Starting, in fact, with their chosen derivative of Linux.
I happen to be a fan of Debian Linux. And I did indeed download a CD image of my chosen operating system from the internet, burn it onto a CD, then proceeded to install Linux. The CD unpacked drivers that connected the partially installed O/S to the network, and finished downloading the remainder of the operating system (and my chosen options) from the web.
Since then I've installed dozens of applications from the massive library of utilities. You guessed it -- I downloaded them from the web.
I've installed word processing applications, graphics applications (like the one used to make this image), scientific and engineering math packages, astronomy planetarium programs, document formatting packages, and many more.
And all -- from the web.
I do much of my shopping on the web as well, using one of the many web browsers from the Linux archive.
Yup. Like this hairy spider, I get most of what I need off the web.
If you're a Linux aficionado, then you need this image to let people know the incredible opportunity Linux provides. It's an image sure to draw comment, giving you the chance to expound on the astounding deal Linux offers. The design is a great gift for any Linux guru that you know.
The design is only available at this online gift store, and comes on sweatshirts, t-shirts, hats, tote bags, mouse pads, mugs, and other products.
